Chie Hirai was born in Osaka, her favorite musics are classical, bossa nova and R&B. She is a semi-professional opera singer, up to now she used to sing at weddings but she just quit to be able to move to Tokyo and to focus in the Miss Universe Japan competition full time. Chie’s hobby is singing, she is a soprano and she loves playing piano. She dances flamenco and she likes to walk for hours and also to cook for her friends. Her chool is the Osaka Music Graduate　School. Chie is a happy person, very sweet and shy unless when she is singing as her voice is amazing! Chie was chosen by Paris Hilton in a Samantha Thavasa event last November in Tokyo チエはオペラ・シンガーとして結婚式などで歌っていましたが、ミス・ユニバース・ジャパン2008の大会に集中するために仕事を辞め、東京に移ることを決意しました。 チエはいつもハッピーでスウィートだけど、控えめな性格。でも歌っているときは堂々としていて、彼女の声は本当に素晴らしいのです。　チエは昨年11月に東京で行われたサマンサタバサのイベントで、パリス・ヒルトンによって22名から選ばれた1人です。

Chie happened to drop by the office an hour ago to wish me a happy new year and to inform me that she has moved to Tokyo Osaka yesterday. I asked her to choose an outfit at the office and I took those pictures of her. つい1時間程前にオフィスに新年の挨拶と昨日の引越しの報告に来てくれました。この写真はその時に私が撮影したもので、服はオフィスにあったものの中からチエが選びました。 Hair by Sunao (the best) at Toni&Guy Harajuku make-up and styling by Chie herself. (pls note that Chie has not yet attended any make-up class, also she did pretty well). Gambate Chie and welcome to busy Tokyo! ヘア、メイク、スタイリングはすべてチエ自身で行いました。当時まだメイクレッスンをしていませんでしたが、なかなか良くできていますね！ チエ、頑張って！　そしてBusyTokyo（せわしない東京）へようこそ！！ (No special lightning and no Photoshop, direct from my camera to my blog). （写真は私のデジカメで撮ったものをそのままアップしてます。特別な照明やPhotoshopでの加工はしていません。） Translation by Ayako nagahama
