Star power at the opening of Louis Vuitton’s floating boutique

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton rolled out the red carpet for the opening of its first floating boutique in the world at Marina Bay Sands.

First to arrive at the red carpet was Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett, decked in an all-black ensemble. She joined LV’s chief executive Yves Carcelle, and Minister S Iswaran in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the waterfront.

The four-storey island maison is the luxury brand’s first in South-east Asia and 12th in the world. International stars like Korean actor Kwon Sang Woo and Hong Kong celebrity also walked the red carpet, turning up the star power.

Among guests: actress Cate Blanchett, singer Estelle, Chow Yun Fatt, Nakata, Godfrey Gao, Rosalyn Lee, Paul Foster, Rebecca Lim, Nat Ho, Dai Yang Tian, Denise Keller, Zhao Lei, Du Juan & Philip Huang, Kwon Sang Woo, Shin Min Ah

The shop is abolutely spectacular! It was a nice evening…. and I happily met some Japanese friends.

here at the outside terrace of the new four-storey Louis Vuitton Island Maison, which feels as if you are on a yatch.

I was wearing a dress by Australian designer Willow, made of gold-flakes. Marni accessories (necklace, earrings and bracelet, with some killer Vuitton black gladiator boots.

Hide Nakata was there, also Ken Watanabe who was treated as a royalty and I don’t think he felt confortable with it. The price to pay when you are that famous… La rancon de la gloire….

After the Grand opnening inside the Island shop, we were taken by little wooden boats to the other side of the bay for a big party with entertainement. Many more guests were invited to the after party. Fun times!

Special thanks to

Emmanuel Prat, LVMH Japan President and to Jean-Christophe Tevenin, General Manager of Louis Vuitton Southeast Asia, for inviting us to such a glamourous evening of entertainment and sophistication.
