MY FAVORITE SINGERS/PERFORMERS
Someone asked me who are my favorite music artists and I owed for a while to answer that question…. here they are:
ADELE
Such a young woman (21), Adele is the biggest thing this year globally. The market is saturated with pop and sex right now, and to see an artist do well without any of that is so refreshing.
Kt Tunstall has an incredible presence on stage, she can make you stand and move in an instant. KT is a smart, funny and clever artist, a really talented songwriter who has music coming out of every pore and a wonderful sexy, husky voice. http://youtu.be/HYEU91d8ngc
AMY WINEHOUSE
Amy Winehouse has fell asleep forever…. I miss the music that could have given us soon. Her style was rooted in jazz and soul, but she had a very contemporary way with a lyric. She did not survive her fame and was too fragile and too young. As you get older you accept who you are, but I don’t think Amy had time to learn how to cope. http://youtu.be/TJAfLE39ZZ8
JANIS JOPLIN
Janis Jopling had one of the most distinctive voices ever. It sounded like it came from the very depths of her soul, and could go from a whisper to a raw rasp. I loved her music when I was 12 only! http://youtu.be/JjD4eWEUgMM
BEYONCE
I love Annie Lenox white soul voices and hers is one of the best. She’s a very strong character and a good role model for young women. I totally love her androgynous style, she reminds e of David Bowie. She is a world activist and I respect her a lot. http://youtu.be/zQ9zycElysU
MADONNA
OMG remember “Like a Virgin”? How many times I danced on that song!!… Madonna has been a huge inspiration for my career, she has taught me how to be creative to an extreme, to be in total control of my work, my image, and to always follow my vision.
She’s a performer who really pushed the boundaries. People compare Lady Gaga to Madonna, but while I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga, Madonna did all the groundwork for artists like her. Amen! http://youtu.be/GuJQSAiODqI
Have a fun day!
