Something about France new First Lady…. Valérie Trierweiler

“For the moment I dress in prêt-à-porter,” she said. “Lately, it has been Georges Rech and Apostrophe, which are quality prêt-à-porter brands that I have been wearing on television. I have never worn dresses by grands couturiers.”

The French political journalist (who writes for Paris Match) and the newly-made French President, Francois Hollande, have been together since 2005 and are France’s first unmarried presidential couple. She has three teenage sons – 15, 17 and 19 – with her first husband Denis Trierweiler, while Hollande has four children with former partner Ségolène Royal.

“The role of being First Lady makes me a little uncomfortable, but I will manage very well if it is not limited to just that,” she told The Times. “I want to represent the image of France, do the necessary smiling, be well dressed, but it shouldn’t stop there. I will not be a trophy wife.”

Karl Lagerfeld when asked what he thinks about her, said: “She is a very beautiful and elegant lady.”
