My favorite show settings at the Fashion week autumn/winter 2012
VIKTOR & ROLF – Paris
Viktor & Rolf’s models were moved onto the catwalk on a conveyor belt, under a glowing full moon giving the audience a complete look at their designs’ silhouettes.
BURBERRY – London
Wow, everyone seated front row weas treated to quite a spectacle as the heavens opened, raining on the models who clutched Burberry umbrellas to the soundtrack of booming thunder as they took their finale.
CHANEL – Paris
Definitely, Karl Lagerfeld goes bigger and better with every season. This time it was a crystal catwwalk where models walked against a backdrop of kryptonite-style crystals in Paris’ Grand Palais.
MANISH ARORA – Paris
With a near-suffocating audience, Manish Arora had several graffiti artists spraying ‘Life is Beautiful’ onto the catwalk’s backdrop as the models showed off his street-themed collection.
VIVIENNE WESTWOOD – Paris
Never one to go by the book, Westwood sent her mainline collection down the runway to a laser show, with platform-wearing models riding bicycles to the end. yehhhaaa!
THOM BROWNE – London
DARK! Mais il en faut pour tous les gouts…. Browne’s eerie collection was born from the depths of a series of coffins.
MONCLER GRENOBLE – New York
In sub-zero temperatures, editors and journalists risked losing their life whilst watching Moncler Grenoble’s beautiiful display in Central Park’s ice-rink. Cool!
ALEXANDER McQUEEN – Paris
Sarah Burton’s magical collection of exploding puffballs were on models who walked underneath glass rain drops which hung from the ceiling.
JIL SANDER in Milan
Raf Simons’ final collection for Jil Sander was a floral flourish with models weaving their way through beautiful bouquets placed in glass boxes on scattered pillars. Kireina!
