食事以外のオリーブオイルの使い方:
髪の毛:
月に2回、乾いた髪の毛にオリーブオイルを付けてパックします。温かいぬれたタオルを上から髪に巻いて1時間そのままにしておくの。その後しっかりシャンプーをすれば仕上がりはつややかで健康的な髪の毛よ。
顔:
アイメイクをおとすときにオリーブオイルを使っているの。すごく良い効果が出るわよ!小さいボトルを買ってキッチンのオリーブオイルで詰め替えるているわ。フランスの田舎に夏に帰っている時は顔のパックとして使う事もある。私の育った場所ではオリーブオイルは日本でのお米みたいに生活に欠かせない物なの。子供の時からずっと使っているわ。
体:
オリーブオイルを体に塗る事も出来るわよ。私は特に足と腕に塗るのが好き。とても滑らかで保湿力がすごくあるの。オリーブオイルは皮膚の細胞を守って保湿するのに本当に最適よ。マッサージに使っても良いし、私はお気に入りの香水を混ぜているわ。
食べても大丈夫な物を体に付ける事は健康的だと思う。科学薬品が入っていない物を体に使うのはとても良い事じゃ無いかしら?

How do you use olive oil in your daily life other than to eat?
I like to use Extra Virgin Olive:
In my hair:
I apply Extra Virgin Olive on my hair twice a month. I apply it on dry hair, generously and wrap a wet and hot towel around my head. After one hour, i wash my hair carefully. The result is a shiny and healthy looking hair afterwards.
On my face:
I use Extra Virgin Olive as an eye make up remover! It really works and leaves the skin around the eye very smooth. I bought a little container and refill it straight from my kitchen bottle!!
I also apply it on my face as mask in the summer, when i am in holiday in France. Olive oil in the South of France where I am from is like rice for Japanese people! I am from the mediterranean same as olive oil. Olives have always been a part of my diet since my childhood.
On my body :
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is wonderfully caring oil for skin application, and offers a luxurious feel for massage, mostly for my legs and arms, I feel that it really make them look like new and moistured. . It sinks into the skin of my body. Its essential fatty acids, tare a necessity for the health of our cell membranes. These acids help restore the skins natural moisture balance and help prevent unnecessary dryness. I also use it mixing with my own perfume.
I makes me feel healthy using products on my skin that I can eat”! I like the feeling of staying away from chemicals that are used in cosmetics sometimes.
You talk about the benefits of olive oil in your book, but can you tell us about the benefits?
Olive oil’s health benefits:
* Reduce blood pressure
* Inhibit the growth of some cancers
* Benefit people at risk for or with diabetes
* Lessen the severity of asthma and arthritis
* Actually help your body maintain a lower weight
The greatest exponent of monounsaturated fat is olive oil, and it is a prime component of the Mediterranean Diet. Olive oil is a natural juice which preserves the taste, aroma, vitamins and properties of the olive fruit. Olive oil is the only vegetable oil that can be consumed as it is – freshly pressed from the fruit.
The beneficial health effects of olive oil are due to both its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its high content of antioxidative substances. Studies have shown that olive oil offers protection against heart disease by controlling LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels while raising HDL (the “good” cholesterol) levels. No other naturally produced oil has as large an amount of monounsaturated as olive oil -mainly oleic acid.
Olive oil is very well tolerated by the stomach. In fact, olive oil’s protective function has a beneficial effect on ulcers and gastritis. Olive oil activates the secretion of bile and pancreatic hormones much more naturally than prescribed drugs.
Olive oil is clearly one of the good oils, one of the healing fats. Most people do quite well with it since it does not upset the critical omega 6 to omega 3 ratio and most of the fatty acids in olive oil are actually an omega-9 oil which is monounsaturated.
Olive oil and colon cancer:
Spanish researchers suggest that including olive oil in your diet offers benefits in terms of colon cancer prevention& japanese people often have this can of disease when getting older also it is very important to incorporate in their diet from an early stage.
Olive oil and heart disease:
Studies have shown that people who consumed 25 milliliters – about 2 tablespoons – of virgin olive oil daily for 1 week, showed less oxidation of LDL cholesterol and higher levels of antioxidant compounds, particularly phenols, in the blood.
But while all types of olive oil are sources of monounsaturated fat, EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil, from the first pressing of the olives, contains higher levels of antioxidants, particularly vitamin E and phenols, because it is less processed. Also, best is to buy Extra-Virgin olive.
